The last two weekends have been busy. We flew to Corpus Christi for my father-in-laws birthday celebration last weekend and this weekend to Houston for a family wedding. The kids did a awesome job for both flights, but I am done traveling for a few weeks.
Since we would be flying for both trips I did not want to travel with my large camera, so right before we left I bought a small point and shot. It worked great and did just what I needed, not the best photos, but we now have the memories to look back on!
Let's start with our family vacation to Corpus. We arrived at the airport before the sun was up, no surprise for those who know my husband. The kids enjoyed watching the planes come in and people watching. This was the first time on a airplane for both kids. After talking with my sweet friend, Jennifer, I was well prepared with a backpack for each child filled with fun new toys and snacks for our flight. I wanted to make sure we would not be that family that had the screaming child during the flight, thankfully both Taylor and John did awesome.
As we walked onto the airplane the pilot showed John the cockpit and let him push a few buttons, John now wants to fly airplanes. More specifically he would like to be spiderman/pilot. That way he can fly all over the world to save people, love this age and the imagination that comes with it.
We practiced with John on how to equalize the pressure in his ears while in flight, he did great.
Taylor had a harder time understanding what I was trying to get her to do, so she used her paci and got to snack on some chewy gummy bears, which did the trick to help her ears. When I was younger I would get the worst ear pressure, it was painful and I wanted to avoid either of the kids feeling that.
We arrived in Corpus by 8am and decided to take the kids to the Texas State Aquarium before meeting up with the rest of the family. We arrived just as the dolphin show was starting.
Next we walked around and looked at the other sea animals.
There are a few areas that allow you to touch the sea life, here John and Taylor were able to touch a small shark. John was not so sure about it, Taylor would have swam with the shark if we let her.
The only thing I have to say about this is that if I ever see one in or around my home we are moving. I can not even begin to explain how much I dislike spiders. It is hard to tell in the photo but this spider was about the size of your hand.
Part 2 of the Corpus trip are all the beach photos, hopefully I will post those soon.
