Halloween 2010

Sunday was Halloween, we dressed the kids up and went trick or treating.

Taylor getting ready!

We went to about five houses. John did great, although once he got to the door he was to shy to say, "Trick or Treat" which he had been saying all day long.
After John went door to door we headed back to our house and John handed out candy.

Taylor Ann Robin

My friend Jennifer is a professional photographer and lives a few houses down from us, so today Taylor and I walked over to her house to have some photo fun. Jennifer did an awesome job and it was a ton of fun. Even though Taylor was awake for most of it, Jennifer was able to get one sleepy photo of her.

The Birth of Taylor Ann

On Monday October 18th, Jason and I checked into Labor and Delivery for my induction. Over all the experience was great and in many ways better than with John. I was more relaxed having a good idea of what to expect. We started around 8:30-9am, start to finish was 6 hours, two hours shorter than with John. I opted to get the epidural before my induction started, and I wont lie it was pretty painful. However, it did its job and I was pain free.

At 3pm, I was ready to push. I did a practice push with the nurse to see if I remembered what to do. I did not even get to do a full practice push, the nurse told me to stop and called down my doctor. I pushed two times and at 3:02pm Taylor Ann was born. My recovery has been great, much better than with John.

On Saturday we headed home, John LOVES his sister. He loves giving her kisses and holding her. He does not mind when she cries and is doing really well with playing solo for a while when I need to feed Taylor.

Jason and I before we get started.

Jason takes a picture of himself when they said it was time to push.

Organic Tree Farm

Yesterday was a beautiful day so we headed to an organic tree farm about 10 minutes North of us to check out what they had. Our new arbor/patio is almost done and our next step is going to be planting some new trees for privacy. The tree farm was just amazing, they have over 300 acres of land and they own one of only four nationally recognized Heritage Rose Gardens in the United States.

On our way back home we found ourselves stuck driving behind this guy. He hit just about every tree on the road causing us to have to maneuver around the fallen tree branches.

39 Week Appointment

Today Jason and I went in for my 39 week appointment. Taylor has been moving great since my last appointment and her heartbeat was loud and clear. Currently I am 39 weeks and 2 days along, 5cm dilated and 80% effaced, Taylor is still at a -2 station. We are currently scheduled to go in Monday morning October 18th for a induction, unless something starts over the weekend on its on. We will keep you posted as much as well can, we are so very excited to meet Taylor.

39 Weeks Along Today!

Today I am 39 weeks pregnant. So far everything is great, Taylor is kicking just as she should. We go in at 10am this Thursday for a checkup. Right now I am thinking we will be scheduling the induction for next Thursday, October 21st, but we will just have to wait and see.

Random Photos of John

John loves watching the school bus pick up the neighborhood kids in the morning.

Watching Mickey Mouse Club House in the morning.

John dragged his yellow chair from one end of the yard to the other for a good hour. I have no idea why he felt the need to do that, but it was very funny and cute to watch.

Being a boy and playing in dirt.

We have some construction going on in our back yard and John has enjoyed watching the guys work with all their neat and loud tools. John is watching a guy jackhammer away our patio.

We woke up one morning to find a construction crew pouring concrete for a new house that is being built on the street next to us. Living in a new neighborhood has given John a chance to see so many different construction trucks, its been really fun to watch.

Placing water bottles on the window seal.

John wearing his Big Brother camo shirt. I will get a better picture taken at some point, he looks so cute wearing it.

38 Week Appointment!

On Thursday I went in for my 38 week appointment. I ended up getting another ultrasound to check on my amniotic fluid level (fluid that surrounds baby Taylor) and check on a few other things. Since Monday I have noticed that she has slowed her movement way down so the Dr wanted to check on her to make sure things are ok. Everything checked out great, the fluid levels were fine, she was moving around great, and at this point she is weighing in at seven and a half pounds.

Currently I am 3-4cm dilated, 80% effaced, -2 station, and Taylor is in the head down position. I am measuring one week ahead at 39 weeks and 2 days.

With all that my OB really wants me to focus on the number of times Taylor kicks after I eat to make sure she kicks at least six times. If she does not I am to call her office ASAP. If I notice her kicking six times this next week after every meal, but it is harder for me to feel her and I am really having to work on her to get her kicking six times within the hour then we will be inducing on October 14th after my appointment at 10am. We wont know until we go into the appointment on Thursday.

At this point Taylor is big enough to do very well outside, we do not want to risk that we are missing something on the ultrasound that is causing her to slow down so much. She could have the cord pressed against something, her cord could be tied in a knot, there are a number of things that could be wrong that we just cant see on ultrasound and that we wont know until she is born.

So my next appointment is on Thursday October 14th at 10am. I will at that point be 39 weeks and 2 days along. If I go into that appointment with any concerns or her movement slows down then I will be sent straight up to labor and delivery. As of Thursday October 7th I was 3-4cm dilated and 80% effaced. Taylor is at a -2 station and head down so induction would be favorable at this point.

If I go in on Thursday the 14th and she is kicking/moving great, and all other test come back good then we will wait until next Thursday October 21st before inducing. On the 21st I will be 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant. At this point I choose not to go past 40 weeks and 2 days with the increase risk of still birth and other complications. If she comes on her own that would be great, but if we get to 40 weeks and 2 days I will induce.

So what all this means is that we could either be holding baby Taylor this Thursday the 14th or at the latest Thursday October 21st! Very exciting!
