Taylor Update

Today we went back to the pedi to see how Taylor is doing. The Dr says she is sounding better but that you can still hear the congestion in her chest. We will keep doing the five breathing treatments a day and she will also be taking reflux medication. We will go back in next friday March 4th to get another x-ray to look at her right lung again to see if it is clear or clearing up. Depending on the outcome of the x-ray we will talk about our next step. It seems that this was all caused by a virus, not RSV, the name of the virus escapees me at the moment.

Taylor is still happy as ever and John has been a big help. John talks to Taylor and shows her how to play while she is doing her breathing treatment. It helps pass the time and keeps Taylor calm. Anytime Taylor starts to get upset he attends to her and tries his best to make her happy, he is just such a blessing and Taylor loves him to pieces.

I will update again next Friday about the outcome of Taylor's appointment, but in the mean time we will be having a super fun week for Johns birthday! Tons of photos to come!

Taylor's Four Month Appointment

What a day today has been. What started off as a simple visit for Taylor's four month check up ended in a trip to get chest x-rays and a bag of medication. So here is a run down of what is going on with little Miss Taylor.

First the good news, she is meeting all her milestones and over all is doing great. She is 26 1/8 inches tall which is the 97th percentile and she weighs in at 15 pounds which is the 75th percentile. She is still drooling like crazy and her two little teeth are still very sharp so watch your fingers. She is talking up a storm, she is much more verbal than John was at this age. Taylor just smiles and talks all day long. As I mentioned in my earlier post she is rolling from her belly to her back and from her back to her belly.

Now for the simple day that no longer was so simple. Taylor has been having some chest congestion and our pediatrician noticed it before we could even point it out. She sent us to get a chest x-ray of Taylor to see what if anything was going on.

Now before I get to the results let me just tell you that watching your four month old get chest x-rays is horrible. Yes, I know there are much worse things that children go through on a daily bases, but for us this was the worse we have experienced. The technician took Taylor and put her in this hard plastic tube looking contraption that was tight so she could not move. She was in a siting position, but remember a four month old cant sit unassisted so this contraption did that for her. Her arms had to be raised above her head and she has to sit like that for what seemed like forever, but in reality it really was not long. Taylor was of course upset, heck we all were upset, its just flat out hard to watch your child cry and you can do nothing. The x-ray technician was very sweet and she did a great job so we did not have to re-do them. Although everything went great, it was horrible and I honestly hate thinking about it.

So the results, the x-ray shows that she has what looks like pneumonia or mucus in her right lung. Given all the data we have we are leaning towards mucus. We also tested her for RSV and should have those results soon. In the mean time I am giving her five breathing treatments a day and tons of hugs and kisses. The breathing treatments should last 10 days, but we will just have to see how things go. We are taking her back to the pedi on Friday to see if things have improved. What we do next will depend on the results.

As for Taylor she seems super happy and just her normal self. She is still talking away a storm and smiling all the time. Thank you for all who called and e-mailed! I will update the blog after our appointment on Friday.

What a weekend!

What better way to start off your morning than to watch Monster trucks with your very own monster trucks!
I can not wait to see Johns reaction this Saturday when we take him to a Monster truck show for his birthday!

Jason was doing some work on his computer so John thought he would go get his computer and do some work too! So cute!
Then it was time to paint!
Enjoying family time!
John showing Taylor all about his sticker book.
We have had awesome weather the last few days so we took full advantage and played outside a ton!
John digging is some new trees we just bought.

John taking in the view!

Little Miss Taylor looking cute as always!

John helping Jason with lawn work. John wanted to wear his helmet and so he did, he even wore it during nap time. I am sure that was uncomfortable, but he still took a three hour nap.

John feeding baby Taylor, what a awesome big brother he is.

Update on Taylor and rolling, well as you can see she can now go from back to belly. As soon as she touches the floor she is rolling from her belly to her back and then her back to her belly over and over and over.

I took this picture today after I heard her wake up from her morning nap. She was just smiling and having a good time showing me that she can roll in her crib too!
This was taken today as well, John was watching a movie and I was at the table doing some crafts. I asked him if he needed anything and when he did not say anything I noticed why, he had passed out in this funny position, off to bed for a nap he went.

Little Miss Taylor

Speaking of Taylor, a year ago today we found out we were pregnant! O how the time does fly by.

What is Taylor up to now...

She has two teeth and is still drooling like crazy, John never drooled so this is new for me. She also loves to chew on her fits. I have tried giving her teething toys, washcloths etc... but she just wants her hand or mine, but as I am sure you guessed two small razor teeth hurt so I dont offer my hand as her chewing toy.

She has rolled from her belly to her back and is half way getting there with rolling from her back to her belly.

It is interesting watching Taylor and remembering back when John met these same milestones. Taylor got her first two teether before John, but at at this point John was rolling both ways all the time.

John is still more in love with her than ever. Taylor Loves her big brother too and always smiles when she can see him.

Happy Valentines Day!

What we do when we are iced/snowed in for a week.

This week has been a big wintery mess. On Tuesday we fell below freezing causing everything to ice over. Finally on Thursday the ice was melting away. Only to wake up friday morning to about 4 inches and still falling snow. For the past week we have not been able to go anywhere and cabin fever is setting in a little. So here are some photos and video of what you do when you are stuck inside for a week.

You line your cars up and run over them with your Monster truck!

You watch a endless amount of movies and cartoons!

You push tooth number two out!
February 01, 2011

You roll over again and again!

You take many naps to pass the time!
You teach your sister about different animals and the sounds they make!
You play "Go Fish" with real playing cards!
You play with your train!
You realize that you need to brush the snow of the fan blades so they do not break!
You watch Poindexter make tracks in the snow!
You watch the snow keep falling and wonder when it will end!
You watch the snow cover your toys!
You find out just how cold snow is when you fall in it!

You play in the snow!

You watch car after car slide as they try to make the turn onto the next street.
