Hair Cuts

Growing up and living with my grandparents exposed me to a lot of different things. One memory I have is of my mamaw cutting my papaws hair outside on the porch. She would set up a chair and cover him with a cover to keep the hair off his clothes. Mamaw says she use to be a beautician, but in all my years living there, watching her cut papaws hair and even my own at times, I sometimes wonder if that was true, ha ha. My papaw always had a very concerned look on his face when she turned on the cutters, I wont lie, she did nik him a time or two.

So when Jason wanted to try cutting Johns hair I grabbed my camera to record the moment. At times John showed a little concern on his face as well, just as papaw did, but all went well. Jason did a pretty good job and I expect the next try will be even better. My only request will be that they do it outside!

Pool Fun In Austin

Last weekend we made a trip down to Austin to visit family and friends. Sadly the trip was cut short because John did not feel well. I was able to get a few photos of the kids having fun in the pool, hopefully we can enjoy it more next summer when the baby is here.

3rd Trimester!

Today, I am 28 weeks pregnant, marking the beginning of the 3rd trimester! Over all I am feeling pretty good. I had a couple of days that felt like first trimester morning sickness, but they have passed, thankfully!

Sweet girl is moving around a lot! Her kicks are a little more painful than I remember John and Taylor's being, but I love them just the same. The kids love to put their hands on my belly and feel her kick their hands, such a fun time. I love that John and Taylor are at the perfect age to really understand what is going on and share in on all the excitement.

My next appointment will be at 29 weeks right before we leave for our week long family vacation in Destin! I just can not wait to feel the sand between my toes.

Movie/Game Night

On Mondays, Jason has work and than school at night, normally John has soccer skills practice which is a nice break in the day. Well, today soccer skills was canceled which honestly was fine with me since another freeze blew in over night. Texas weather is just flat out crazy. Sunday we were having fun in the backyard, flying kits, cooking out, all in our shorts. Today, not so much. So…..we had a fun day of game playing and movie watching.

Robin Family, Table For FIVE!

I first started my online blogging a little over five years ago with my first post announcing our pregnancy with our first child, John Howard! Blogging was a great way to keep record of all the milestones in life and at the same time share those milestones with friends and family. Once our second child was born, Taylor Ann, life got busy. As John and Taylor reached toddlerhood my blogging slowed down, way down, in fact it stopped.

My last post was about John turning 4! Now he is 5 and so so much has happened in that year. We went on our first family beach vacation to Clearwater Beach, Fl followed by another trip to Florida in November to experience Disney. I will have to catch up on so much and I promise I will try.

So... how do you start a blog up again? When is a good time?

The Robin Family is growing and what better way to start our family blog back up again than with another pregnancy announcement!?! We are expecting baby number three in August and we are THRILLED! Each of my pregnancies have been so different and this one is no exception.

We found out we were pregnant in December before Christmas, so yes that means I am pretty far along now, 20 weeks and 1 day along. This pregnancy has been the hardest hands down. Morning sickness this time started at 5 weeks 6 days, the day right before Christmas and lasted until I was 13 weeks along. It was 24/7 and nothing helped. Jason was and still is my rock as always. He took over mom roll and did everything for almost two months. All the cleaning, cooking, shopping, laundry, you name it he was doing it.

So where are we now?

Today, we had our 20 week ultrasound and we got to find out if we would have a girl or a boy. Both of the kids wanted a girl. Jason and I were happy with either since we already have one of each. We were all thrilled when the technician announced GIRL! I am beyond thrilled. I can finally start buying all those cute girly things I see. I am sure I will go a little crazy with newborn girl photography props ;)

Here we are, a new chapter, a new milestone, a new adventure as a family of 5!
