Splash Park Fun!

Last week we meet some friends at a splash park. There are a ton of splash parks around us and we go to them about two or three times a week.

Taylor was checking out the blue splash pad

John helping Taylor with her necklace. John gets very protective of his sister now. He wont let other kids take her bucket and is the first to let me know if someone is not being nice to her.

He always brightens our day!

John's friend, Meghan.
These two played non-stop and when we were loading up the car to go John told me he loved her, that she was his best friend! Love these moments!

This is Connor, he is in love with Taylor and is always hugging on her. It is just about the cutest thing.

Taylor has so many funny facial expressions!

My friend Amy with her little girl Lucy having fun!

This is Carter another one of John's friends. Just as I put the camera away all the boys started running around and sitting on top of the spray fountains.

Taylor and Lucy took some time to have a girly chat.

Meghan

The splash park also has a playground area where John and Meghan played "follow the leader" on the retaining wall.

Once they reached the end they would jump down and start over.

Taylor with her fairy wings on and one of her favorite books, Pinkalicious.

Taking  care of her babies

Hot air balloons are spotted around our house just about every weekend morning, the kids always wave hello.

I don't know how you like to read your books, but Taylor likes to have everything she owns piled around her. Her big brother helped her with this nice little mountain of toys.

John, also known as Spiderman, always saving the day!

Swim Lessons

In June John started swim lessons again with a mommy and me class to get him use to Coach Stephanie again and go over the basics. In July he switched to semi private swim lessons where it is just John and another little boy, Hudson.
During semi private lessons I am not in the water, I just get to watch. I was not sure how John would do, but he did great! I was so proud of how well he did and John was just as excited at what a "Big boy" he was for going in alone. He looks forward to each class, so I signed him up again for August!

4th of July Celebration

We had a busy and fun 4th of July that kicked off bright and early with the local downtown McKinney parade. Later that night the kids got to stay up way past their bed time to watch the fireworks, but it was worth it.

My patriotic craft this year, my front door wreath. I think it turned out cute, I have had a few people knock on our door asking about it.

We had a awesome parking spot this year for the parade. We were able to back the car up right along the parade path and watch from the cool shade from the car.

First in line at the parade were the fire trucks. John was prepared for the noise.

There must have been over a hundred motorcycles ...

and they were loud!

This guy was interesting, in fact we saw a few interesting things in this years parade.

What's a small town parade without a tractor, in fact there were a few tractors.

Taylor kept saying, "Wave, hi, wave, look at that, wave, wave, wow!" as she waved, it was cute.

Poor horse was painted like a flag

Later that night we decided to give the fireworks a try. We were not sure how it would go since the fireworks would not start until almost 10pm, but we gave it a try. Friends joined us on our fireworks mission and we all had a great time. The kids enjoyed the fireworks for about two minutes then just played the rest of the time.

John, Hayley, and Taylor, hanging out in the back of our car.

Jason got a picture of John and Hayley holding hands during the fireworks show, how cute is that!?!

All in all the 4th of July was fun, hot, and a long day, but we all had a really great time.
