Good Bye Bottles

Since John turned 11 months we started mixing whole milk with his formula to get him use to the taste of whole milk. On Friday we went to 100% whole milk and no more bottles, the transition went great! John LOVES milk and drinks it all the time. We finally found a sippy cup that he loves which helped the transition from bottles to sippy cups.

John drinking milk from his sippy cup.

I followed John into his room one afternoon and he grabbed a book off his bookshelf and climbed into his chair. So we sat and read books for a while.

Jason reading "The Magic School Bus" to John. What a great book!

Our front hallway needed to be mowed.

Snow Day!

It has been snowing like crazy in Dallas since about 4 this morning. McKinney has not had a break in the snow yet and it is expected to keep falling until around 3am tomorrow morning. So far in McKinney we have about 5-6 inches of snow.

John built his very first snowman with the help of his daddy. John and his snow friend seemed to both enjoy having a pacifier.

Bathtub laughs

John enjoying bath time and laughing at his daddy. You can also see John sporting his new custom ear plugs. I love having such a happy, loving baby. He brightens our day everyday.

Giving Poindexter Treats!

John loved giving Poindexter his treats and Poindexter loved getting them. After John came back to me for the sixth or so time to get another treat I told them they were all gone. So John walked over to his fruit loops that he was snacking on and started sharing those. It was very cute.

John's Surgery

For those who do not know John has been getting recurring ear infections since October. With each new ear infection he has to be on a new antibiotic for ten days. The last ear infection John had was the worst and after two different oral antibiotics doing nothing he had to get three rounds of a more powerful antibiotic shot. After this last ear infection it was recommend that we speak with an ENT specialist. After running some test it was highly recommend that John get tubes in both ears. We scheduled his surgery for two weeks later which was the soonest they could get him in.

So this morning John went in for surgery to get tubes in both ears. Jason, John, and I arrived at 6:20 am for check in and they took him back to surgery at 7:30 am. The procedure took about five minutes total. After the procedure they brought him back to us. He was upset after waking up from the anaesthesia, but it was nothing that hugs and kisses could not cure. We were back in the car and heading home by 8:30 this morning.

Since we have been home he has been acting like his normal self, walking, talking, and playing. You never would have guest he had tubes in his ears this morning.

John got to wear his own little person hospital gown.
These two pictures where taken before he went back.

More Walking Videos

Here are two more videos of John walking, falling, and getting back up again. He is getting really good at walking.

This video starts off a little dark, but gets better.

Using Utensils

Yesterday morning John had pancakes and bananas for breakfast. He had a ton of fun stabbing his food to try and get it on his fork so he could eat it. He did really well and was so happy with himself when he got it to stick to his fork and put it in his mouth.

We have a Climber!

John has learned how to climb onto his chair in his room. He now loves climbing onto everything. We are now working on teaching him how to get back down.
