Austin Trip

Friday morning John and I went to the local park.

Later we went to the pool with Aunt Kari, cousin Madelyn, and Granny. John did not care so much for the pool so we hung out and ate snacks while watching Madelyn swim.

Hotdogs on a hot summer day!

Last week we had Emma, Danae, her nieces and nephews over for dinner. Danae is watching her sisters children while her sister and brother-in-law are in Africa helping with charity. Danae's husband is out of town for work for the next three weeks so needless to say she has her hands full right now. Hotdogs and tater tots were on the menu for the night and the kids ate them all.

We do not have a big enough table for all six kids and three adults so we laid out some towels, and popped in a movie and they ate on the floor.

Feeling Taylor

This morning Jason and I were hanging out on the couch before he left for work and I had my hand on my belly. I felt Taylor kick, this was the first time I have felt her from the outside. Jason put his hand in the same place and started talking to her. She kicked again even harder and Jason was able to feel her as well.

With John I believe I felt him close to 22 weeks and Jason felt him at 23 weeks. I would have to look back in this blog for the exact weeks.

Today I am 21 weeks and 2 days along in my pregnancy.

Taylor Ann Robin

On Friday Jason and I went in for my anatomy ultrasound. This is when they take important measurements of the baby. Finding out the sex of the baby is an added bonus.

This ultrasound was so different than it was with John. Both were taken at about the same time, 20 weeks. However, Taylor was much more active. It took the ultrasound technician a little longer to get her measurements because the baby was moving so much.

Jason and I absolutely loved our technician. She made the ultrasound so fun and informative. Everything about Taylor looked great. She was measuring right on target and weighs about 13oz. At the very end of our ultrasound the technician asked us if we wanted to know if we were having a boy or a girl, we both said yes. The technician found the needed angle to determine the baby's sex and typed on the screen, "No Doubt its a ...GIRL!"

Jason and I were so happy with the news. John is going to be a big brother to his little sister. It is a perfect balance of one boy and one girl. As you can tell from the title of this post her name is Taylor Ann Robin. Below are a couple of photos of her, the screen shots are much better than the print outs, but you get the idea.

The technician typed out, "Hi Mommy, Daddy, and John".
This is a side view of Taylor's face, she is looking up.

This is one of Taylor's feet. At one point she was sitting with her knees to her chest and her feet crossed at her ankles.

Helping Around The House

John has been showing more and more interest in helping around the house. He loves to throw things away in the trash, help feed Poindexter, help load the dryer, and help with the dishes. He does great with listening and following directions.

John's 15 Month Appointment

On Thursday John had his 15 month appointment. His pediatrician said he looked great, and was right on target. John seems to learn something new everyday.

John's Measurements

Height: 33 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 26 pounds ( 75th percentile)

We bought a seat for John to sit in behind Jason while he rides his bike. Here are some photos of the boys putting the seat together and then enjoying a ride. John really loved it.
