37 Week Appointment

Today I went in for my 37 week appointment. Not much has changed since my appointment at 35 weeks. Taylor has moved down a little which is good, she is still head down which is great, and I am still 2cm and 80%. I am measuring ahead at 40 weeks.

Right now the plan is to just sit and wait to see what happens. Size is not an issue for Taylor like it was with John so we are not talking about induction just yet. My OB would prefer that I not go past 41 weeks since the risk for still birth increases and personally I do not think right now that I would push it to 41 weeks. If induction does take place it will not happen before 39 weeks (October 12th). Next OB appointment will be on Thursday October 7th.

In other Robin family news we have a super exciting weekend coming up.

Friday is Jason's 30th birthday! No party is planned, but we will be having a yummy dinner Friday night followed by cake that John and I will be making that afternoon. John is working on making his daddy his own special birthday gift.

Saturday is the sprinkle for Taylor Ann that was suppose to happen a month ago. We have rented a bounce house for the kids and the weather is suppose to be just beautiful. It is going to be a great day to be around so many friends and family. Plus as an added bonus UT plays OU on Saturday so we will have the game on TV.

Sunday is State Fair day!!!!!!!!! We are so excited. Like Saturday the weather is suppose to be just perfect and beautiful. I have my map of the State fair grounds printed out, marking all the important food stops and locations of nearby restrooms, lol. John will be riding in style in his wagon with its canopy to keep him out of the sun. Our goal is to eat as much State Fair food as we can and have a blast doing it. John is a super good eater so I am excited to see what state fair foods he will want to try and what he ends up loving. I have a feeling he is going to be like his mama and love the corn dogs.

I will be posting the photos of our fun weekend next week!

2010 Plano Balloon Festival

This morning we were up bright and early to catch the Plano Balloon Festival. This is our 3rd year in a row to go (the first year I was pregnant with John). It was nice and cool this morning, but heated up pretty quickly. We stayed just long enough to watch the balloons take off.

35 Week Appointment

Today I went in to check on Taylor and see how things are going. We went ahead and had the growth ultrasound today and she is right on target at 35 weeks and 2 days along. Taylor is head down which is great and I am pretty sure she is going to stay there until she is ready to come. Her heartbeat was strong and she was kicking away.

With the growth ultrasound she is measuring at 5 pounds and 9 oz at 35 weeks and 2 days. These measurements can be off plus or minus a pound or so. At 37 weeks with John he was thought to be weighing around 7 and a half pounds and he was 9 pounds at birth. We will just have to wait and see at the end how big or small she truly is.

I also had my first internal today and had surprising results. I am already 2cm dilated and 80% effaced, but she is still high up, but head down. At 35 weeks with John I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced, he was also head down, but also further down then Taylor is right now. In the end I know that these numbers really do not mean much in the way of impending labor. For those who followed my blog when I was pregnant with John you will recall I was 4cm dilated and 80% effaced for two weeks before I finally had an induction at 39 weeks and 1 day.

Either way the time is getting closer and we are all getting more excited.

John

This is not an uncommon sighting at our house. There is a private hot air ballon company close by and we see them giving rides all the time. John loves watching them as they pass.

Emma's mom had a appointment during the week so Emma came over to our house. Her and John had a blast together. It is so cute hearing John say Emma's name. Every time I mention her name his face lights up.

John has gotten really good at riding his BMW car and his Harley.

Although we are out of the 100 plus degree weather it is still in the mid 90's and hot hot hot!
John enjoys hanging out in his little pool while enjoying some popsicles.

35 Weeks Along and 35 Days to go!

Today I am 35 weeks along in the pregnancy which gives me 35 days until October 19th. This week I will begin seeing my OB/GYN every week until Miss Taylor Ann is here. I will go in this Thursday (9-16) to check things out and next Thursday (9-23) we will do a growth ultrasound to see how big Taylor is. I am guessing that we have less than 35 days to go, given that John came a week early, but who knows.

John's 18 Month Appointment

Today we went in for John's 18 month appointment. He did really well with the exam until it was time for shots, which are no fun. Jason does a much better job at holding him when shots are given, if it were up to me I think I might just offer to take the shots for John. He is right on track and is doing well. His next appointment is at 24 months and will not include any shots, yeah!!!

Here are John's current measurements:

*Height: 35.5 inches (97% percentile)
*Weight: 29.2 pounds ( 83% percentile)
*Head Circumference: 50.4 cm ( 97% percentile)
*Shoe Size: 8 extra wide

Photos

I have a ton of video I need to upload, but right now it is not letting me. So in the mean time here are some photos from the past couple of weeks.

Color Time!

John likes for daddy to do his hair in the morning while he is doing his before Jason leaves for work.

John watching the constructing dump truck overload itself.

Lorissa and me Saturday before we leave to take her back to the airport. She flew down from Denver, CO to be with me during my dads funeral on Friday. She is having a boy due November 23rd.
Just a short sum up of what has been going on in the last week or so for those who do not know. My dad has been in declining health since John was born back in Feb 2009. In June 2010 we started having hospices come in to help care for my dad. A few weeks into hospices care my dad became bed bound.

Even though he had hard days his spirits were still there along with his warm smile and funny jokes. John and I spent these last few weeks visiting with him. John enjoyed showing him all the new words he knew and animal sounds. On Friday August 27th at around 6pm I received a phone call from my mom that his blood pressure had dropped into a unsafe zone. I left the house right then and Jason made phones calls to cancel vendors we had for the sprinkle that was suppose to be the next day for Taylor on the 28th.

At this point we now had a nurse at the house 24 hours a day. I spend Friday at the house with my dad, mom, and other family. Saturday morning as soon as I woke up I headed to the house again, again spending all day with family and family friends. During this time Jason stayed at home with John. My dad has 6 children, me being the youngest. During Saturday we each took private time to talk with dad, telling him we loved him, and told him it was ok to let go, that we would take care of mom. On Sunday morning August 29th at around 8:30am dad was able to listen on the phone as his first born, Marc, (who lives in Indiana) told him that he loved him and that it was ok to let go. An hour later my dad took his final breaths and went to heaven, he was surrounded with family when he went to heaven.

This past week on Thursday September 2nd we had my dad's viewing followed by his service on Friday the 3rd. My dad was given a full honors military service and it was amazingly moving. Needless to say it has been an emotional week for myself and my family, but a healing one at the same time. I can not even begin to tell you how blessed I am to have the husband I do, the family I do, and the friends I do.
