Bluebonnets Take Two!

On Wednesday morning I took the kids out to another bluebonnet field to try to get some photos of Taylor smiling. This bluebonnet field was full of blooms, it was great. I really love the photos I got, so happy I tried again.

My sweet silly girl!

Love John's eyes in this one, my little boy is not so little anymore.

At this point she was tired of me asking her to smile and this was the face I got, love it!

Texas Bluebonnets

The Bluebonnets have been blooming, but with all the rain we had last week we could not go out and take pictures. The ground is finally dry so we headed out this morning after John's dentist appointment to try and take some photos. Taylor pretty much protested the bluebonnet field as soon as her feet got wet from the morning dew. All was not lost, I did get a few pictures. I plan to try again Wednesday morning at a different field, we shall see how that goes.

Warmer Weather = Outside fun!

We have really been enjoying the warmer weather this past week and have been outside doing something everyday. One of the many awesome things about being a stay at home mom is all the time I get to spend with the kids and all the fun things I get to experience with them. They are growing up way to fast and it will not be long before they are both in school five days a week. I cherish all of these small moments and milestones. I am so very thankful for such an awesome husband who works so hard so that I get to have the choice to stay home with our kids.

Emma and John playing with the water for the plants.

On the left is Taylor's "Baby", a giraffe she has become VERY attached to. On the right is Grover, John's "animal". Grover is a character on Sesame street. John likes to have him when he sleeps, but is not really attached to him. However, Taylor's baby and John's animal have become friends. Taylor always wants John's grover to be with John as her giraffe is always with her. This picture is the two during bath time. Taylor set them up against the door while her and John took a bath. You just cant help but smile.

For Christmas we bought the kids a butterfly kit. You place a order for caterpillars and when they arrive this is what you get.

There are five caterpillars in this cup which includes all the food they will need as they go through metamorphosis. Its really interesting watching them change each day and its a great educational tool to show your kids what metamorphosis is and talk about the changes they notice. Once the caterpillars reach the chrysalis stage I will move them to a butterfly mesh cage where they will finish the metamorphosis cycle. Then the kids can release the butterflies into the backyard.

Lollipops are so yummy!

Dallas Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum was also hosting a art show during our visit.

Took this picture to show how large this metal sculpture was.

Row of Southern Magnolias, amazing how big they get.
So beautiful!

There is a part of the arboretum that has a amphitheater where they have concerts and other events. They were playing music and Taylor started dancing, she loves to dance.
