Texas State Fair 2009

This has been a busy weekend in the Robin house. We are finishing last minute packing, checking on the new house to make sure our close date stays on track, celebrating John turning seven months old, and enjoying Johns first time at the Texas State Fair.

We met up with Lorissa, Mark, Heidi and their family for a fun filled day at the state fair. It is quite the experience going to the state fair with Lorissa. She loves state fair food more than anyone I know and having her as your state fair food guide is sure to leave you happy, full, and satisfied.

Climbing Stairs

Yesterday John discovered the stairs in our living room. Climbing them is all he wants to do now. I am really glad we will not have stairs in the new house. Here is a video of John discovering the stairs.

Also, please take note that Mr. Poindexter never breaks from chewing his bone, now that is some dedication.

Trip to Austin!

Over the weekend we traveled to Austin and stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house. John discovered all sorts of new things. Here are some photos from our visit.

House Update and Cute Photos of John

We started our morning with a trip to watch my brother Nik play soccer.

In six season his team has only lost three games.

We also stopped by the house to see the progress. They have laid tile, added lights, sinks, counter tops, and painted the outside. The inside is almost complete.

Please Keep Cutler in Your Thoughts and Prayers.

As many of you know John has been attending a wonderful daycare since he was four months old. In his infant classroom John was one of four infants in his class. John and two other classmates just moved up to the six month to one year class room September 1st. However, one little guy named Cutler who is a little younger stayed behind. He is without a doubt the sweetest and cutest little guy. John and I would say hello to him every morning and good by when I picked John up. The boys enjoyed staring at each other during tummy time and were always smiling.

Today, I learned that this little guy who is full of life has been diagnosed and is battling leukemia. My heart has physically broken for Cutler and his family. I will never understand why anyone has to battle such illnesses let alone a brand new life, so small, so innocent. 

Please keep this loving family and Cutler in your thoughts and prayers.

Last night John took four crawling steps on his own. This video was taken this morning. He is getting better at going forward and will crawl a little before inching along on his belly. As you can see in the video despite all the fun toys he has he loves my cell phone and the TV remote. 

Uncle Jim Visits

Jim came up to Dallas and stayed the night. When Jim got to our House I was not home so the guys went out to White Rock Lake to walk around. They said they had a great time. When I got back we all drove up to McKinney so Jim could see our house. We also ate lunch at Spoons, a local diner in the McKinney square. Later that evening Jason and Jim went shopping to get things for dinner. Jim made us two awesome pizzas. 

Sunday before Jim headed back to Austin we ate lunch at Luckie's, a restaurant that Jim's friend Charles opened about two months ago. The atmosphere was open and fun and the BBQ was perfect. 

House Update

Over the weekend we took Jim up to Mckinney to have lunch and see the progress on our house. They have added texture to the walls, doors, and molding. The kitchen cabinets are in and the driveway is ready to get poured. They also added our house number to the front of the house.
