Today Taylor is six months old. Everyday she learns something new and explores her world around her more. She is getting better at crawling each day and John is getting faster at moving his toys out of her reach. As much as John loves his sister he is not nearly as excited with Taylor's new ability of crawling as Jason and I are.
Yesterday John and Taylor were playing on the floor in Taylor's room. John decided he was going to get his Legos out and play with those in her room as well. As soon as he brought that big green box into her room she started moving his way. John would get two blocks together before Taylor got close enough to reach them so John would move his Legos a little further away. Each time he moved he gave Taylor more of her toys.
At one point John tried to build a wall in front of her with her stuffed animals, but Taylor just moved right over them, her eye on John and his Legos. John finally made it all the way out into the hallway between their rooms and he thought the hall was a good stopping point. He picked up all his Legos, put them back in the bucket and back into his closet they went.
Today Taylor crawled over to her bouncer chair and pulled herself up to her feet, into a standing position but slightly leaning forward over the chair, it amazes me how strong she is. It is interesting and fun watching Taylor grow up and remembering back to when John was the same age. I think about how different they are, but how many similarities they have as well. John has always been so mellow and Taylor is always on the go. Both John and Taylor are both love bugs, but Taylor is much more of a cuddlier at six months then John was at this age.
The biggest difference between the two is that Taylor is very attached to John, Jason, and myself. When John was this age he was fine with who ever held him as long as he could see Jason or I in sight. Taylor starts to get upset if we even hint that we are going to pass her off to someone else. If you are lucky enough to hold her you have about a minute before she realizes that we are not holding her and she starts to cry. Taylor has the biggest smile and it makes other people just want to hold her, but for now she likes to meet people in the comfort of our arms.
