What would you do if you won a million dollars?

A friend of mine posted on her blog how the old question "What would you do if you won a million dollars" has changed. Today, she wrote the question should be "What would you do if you won five million dollars". Everything around us is increasing in price and people seem to be living beyond their means.

When I was younger I use to watch the show "Who wants to be a Millionaire". I remember thinking how much life would be better if I won a million dollars. I could buy my parents a new house, a new car, and not have to worry about paying for collage. I really did not have to think about where the million dollars would go, after all it seemed like so much to me at the time. Winning a million dollars today, although still very nice, would not do all the things I would love for it to do.

If I won a million dollars today I would still buy my grandmother a new house and make sure she was taken care of. However, now that I am married and have kids the money would go other places. I would want to max out John and Taylor's college accounts and set aside funds to buy them reliable cars when they turn 16. Unlike myself, Jason was not as lucky to get his schooling paid for so funds would go to pay off his school debut. Then if there was anything left it would go into savings.

It will be interesting watching the kids grow up and seeing how much less a million dollars will really go once they are having their own kids.
