Taylor is 7 months old!

-Taylor-

Today you are seven months old! In the last month you have blossomed as you learned new things. At your six month appointment you weighed in at 16.6 pounds (75%) and your height was 27 inches (90%).
You love to be anywhere your brother is and you have conquered your fear of crawling on the tile because it is your only way to get to where you brother is at the time. John has picked up on you wanting to be close to him. He enjoys grabbing one of your toys and getting you to follow him around the house. He is doing much better at letting you play with his toys and sharing since you tend to play with a toy for just a few seconds until something new catches your eye.

I am pretty sure that if you knew how to walk you would be doing it already. You are every where and you have increased your crawling speed ten fold. With your increased daredevil attitude comes more falls than your brother took at this age. You recover quickly and go right back to what caused you to fall to begin with.

You want anything and everything in your mouth within your reach. Last week I had to buy a shopping cart cover since I knew once I put you in the shopping cart you would dive right for the hand rails, which you did, but you just ended up with a mouth full of fabric. Speaking of putting things in your mouth, you are quite the biter and you think its funny. However, those who you bit do not share your love for it. John tells you "No Ma'am", but you just look at him and smile then try to bit him again.

You are laughing more each day and we all love hearing it. John loves to tickle you and you love being tickled. John can get you to laugh at pretty much anything while your dad and I have to work at it, I guess we are just not funny enough for you.

You have two more teeth coming in which gives you a total of eight. You are a pro at going from a crawling position to sitting up, it seems you learned that trick overnight. You have also become more aware that just letting go and falling is not the best way to safely get back to the ground. You know that slowly lowering yourself down as far as your little arms will let you reach will let you have a minimal drop.

With John we had all the child safety precautions in place and he never really tested them out. However, you give baby companies a reason to keep inventing new baby proofing items. You seem to find everything that can cause you harm which again you think is funny while I have a mild heart attack. My hair gets a little grayer each day.

You are eating three meals a day in solids and it is going pretty well. I think you would prefer to eat what we are eating so tomorrow I plan to get you some yogurt melts and other first solid food things for you to try.

Tomorrow we will also be getting your new convertable car seat. Now that you can sit up so well it is much easier to just put you in the shopping cart when we shop or to carry you in places without lugging around your heavy infant seat. Hopefully you will like it even though you will no longer be able to have toys dangling in front of your face while we drive.

Here are some pictures from your life as a six month old! We can not wait to see what the next month brings!
