I have a ton of video I need to upload, but right now it is not letting me. So in the mean time here are some photos from the past couple of weeks.
Color Time!
John likes for daddy to do his hair in the morning while he is doing his before Jason leaves for work.
John watching the constructing dump truck overload itself.
Lorissa and me Saturday before we leave to take her back to the airport. She flew down from Denver, CO to be with me during my dads funeral on Friday. She is having a boy due November 23rd.
Even though he had hard days his spirits were still there along with his warm smile and funny jokes. John and I spent these last few weeks visiting with him. John enjoyed showing him all the new words he knew and animal sounds. On Friday August 27th at around 6pm I received a phone call from my mom that his blood pressure had dropped into a unsafe zone. I left the house right then and Jason made phones calls to cancel vendors we had for the sprinkle that was suppose to be the next day for Taylor on the 28th.
At this point we now had a nurse at the house 24 hours a day. I spend Friday at the house with my dad, mom, and other family. Saturday morning as soon as I woke up I headed to the house again, again spending all day with family and family friends. During this time Jason stayed at home with John. My dad has 6 children, me being the youngest. During Saturday we each took private time to talk with dad, telling him we loved him, and told him it was ok to let go, that we would take care of mom. On Sunday morning August 29th at around 8:30am dad was able to listen on the phone as his first born, Marc, (who lives in Indiana) told him that he loved him and that it was ok to let go. An hour later my dad took his final breaths and went to heaven, he was surrounded with family when he went to heaven.
This past week on Thursday September 2nd we had my dad's viewing followed by his service on Friday the 3rd. My dad was given a full honors military service and it was amazingly moving. Needless to say it has been an emotional week for myself and my family, but a healing one at the same time. I can not even begin to tell you how blessed I am to have the husband I do, the family I do, and the friends I do.
