Below is a picture of our soon to be home. We will start construction either at the end of May or first thing in June. We are very excited and can not wait. We will be living in the city of McKinney on the West side of 75. Its a beautiful growing area with new development and is very family friendly.
More about the house, it is a three bedroom two bath home with a study. The house will have tile throughout except for the the living room and bedrooms that will have soft, durable carpet. Our home is located on the largest lot on our street and is a beautiful corner lot. We are steps away from our community's pool and the pond both of which you can see as you step out on the front steps. John and I will have many days walking to the pool on warm sunny days.
We are hoping our home is ready for move in on September 1st 2009.
Jason's update: The lot is on a corner, and is kind of pie shaped. Front of the house is north facing. Front of the lot (north) is on 105ft of street. Side of the house (east) is on 143ft of street. Back of the lot narrows to 50ft. The lot is 143ft deep. The house is 1868 sqft. The lot is located in a part of the development that already has existing homes built. This lot is completely surrounded by existing homes, so while there will be a lot of construction in the area, it wont be immediately next door to us. The house should sit 25ft off of the street. The house is about 60 ft front to back. This leaves us a back yard that is roughly 60ft wide by x 55ft deep, about the best we could possibly hope for in a north Dallas spec home community. We'll have lot pictures updated here this weekend. The below floorplan is exactly the reverse of how our house will be. So our garage will be on the right instead of the left. We also killed the fireplace, put a window in its spot, added a shower and double vanity to the master bath, added ceiling fans in the bedrooms and family room, tile throughout instead of vinyl, and a sprinkler system in the yard. Builder also through in a full sized refrigerator that matches the other appliances and 2" faux wood blinds throughout. Ashley's cousin installs window tinting for homes, so i think we may get some shade of tint put on the windows as well, should help improve efficiency.
